again another thing copied that we will need to make our own.

I got on a roll and I know this is another thing that has been brought up as a sore spot as well, so I made another visual tutorial... apologies again if this was not wanted.
For Forum Moderators/AdministratorsWhen splitting a topic, there are two different ways you can do it. In the first way, you can remove just one of a few selected posts from the topic. In the second way, you can remove all posts after a certain post in the topic. This tutorial will cover both ways.
Step One - Method OneYikes! You ran into a post that needs to have (a) reply/replies taken out of it. Instead of going to the Moderator Control Panel from the subforum like we would do to merge/lock a topic, we are going to go to the topic itself and then select the "Moderator Control Panel" link.
Step Two - Method OneYou will be redirected to another page that is quite different from selecting the Moderator Control Panel from the subforum. Now, there are three things you will need to do on this page before splitting the topic. The first thing we need to do is create a new title for the posts we will separate from the rest of the topic. Enter your title in the "New Topic Title" bar. The second thing we need to do is select what forum this post will go to. If this post will not be moved, i.e.: it will remain in this forum, skip this step. If you want to move the topic though, let us say to the Suspect/Questionable Posts subforum, open the drop-down menu and select the Suspect/Questionable Posts subforum. Now we need to scroll down to where the actual posts are. In this first method, we just want to remove one pesky spam post. Select the box next to the post so there is a check mark in it. If you want to remove multiple posts scattered through out the topic though, go through and click each of those posts.
Step Three - Method OneNow that we know what topics we want to move, we need to open the drop-down menu at the bottom of the screen. For this first method, we will want to select the "Split Selected Posts" option. After doing so, hit submit.
Step Four - Method OneYou will be redirected to a screen asking if you really want to do this. Select yes.
Step Five - Method OneYou will be redirected to another screen asking if you want to return to the original topic or go to the new topic created. If you chose not to select an option, it will redirect you to the new topic.
Step Six - Method OneIf you didn't select an option in Step Five, you will be redirected to the new topic. Admire your nice split posts!

In this second method, you will select only one post! Make sure that this is also a post that you want to split from the topic. After selecting that one post, scroll down to the drop-down menu and select "Split topic from select posts onward" and then hit the submit button.
Step Three - Method TwoRefer to steps "Step Four - Method One" and "Step Five - Method One."
Step Four - Method TwoYou can now admire your new split topic! Notice this time that the reply you selected was moved, as well as any replies after it.
